Gary F. Howell

Gary was born in Atlanta , GA , and attended East Atlanta High School. He also attended Dekalb College and Mercer University, majoring in Business.

Gary formed Howell Oil Corp in 1972 and Howell Retail Sales Corp in 1994 which eventually expanded into 16 convenience store/gas stations, several package stores and commercial properties in the Metro Atlanta area.

Gary began construction on Highway 138 Package Store in 2001 which is the first retail store he has built from the ground up. His commitment to build the south side’s finest liquor-beer-and -wine outlet was realized when the store opened August 1st, 2002, to rave reviews and has been going strong ever since. to email Gary.

Terry Darby

Terry was born in Atlanta, GA. After graduating Rockdale County High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force. Terry was stationed in London, England, for 3 years, where he met and married his wife, Julie. He spent the next 3 years at Patrick Air Force Base, Cocoa Beach, Fla, and eventually settled in Stockbridge, GA, where he spent the next 25 years in the grocery industry. Terry joined Howell Retail Sales Corp in July 2004 as General Manager and has already earned the reputation as one of the south side’s most accomplished buyers and merchandisers. to email Terry.

Wine Consultant/Department Manager
William (Bill) Remy

Bill was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but being a military dependent, found himself moving all over the world for many years. In 1980, Bill started his journey into the wine business by serving a two year apprenticeship at Jim Sanders Fine Wines in Atlanta and concentrated on learning French and German wines, as well as ports and sherries. Bill later combined his sales and wine education experience and became a wholesaler of fine wines. This endeavor gave Bill many opportunities to consult with Food and Beverage Managers and to excel in food and wine pairings. Since 1991, Bill has worked as Wine Manager for one of Atlanta's largest beverage retailers. Bill joined our team in December 2009, and we are very proud to have Bill on our staff as Wine Buyer and Wine Department Manager.

Bill believes that the best thing about wine is that there are good values from all over the world, and he looks forward to sharing his passion and education of wines with all of you - our valued customers!
